If you feel the need for speed, the wait is over  - Warrawee Needy is here

The need for speed is here – WARRAWEE NEEDY was the fastest standardbred in the world.

Actually, WARRAWEE NEEDY has made a rather spectacular start as a sire in North America. From his first commercial crop he sired Noch Ten (1:52.6) the fastest two-year old in Canada in 2019, a smart filly in Need Ur Opinion (1:52.2), Need a rocket (1:51.8) Needless To Say (1:52.6) and Capistrano (1:53.8). He has seven in the 1:55 list and 19 in 2:00

WARRAWEE NEEDY’s first Australian crop are currently three-year-olds and from 47 foals he has sired 30 starters for 16 winners and five placegetters. They include a top ranking Queensland colt in Uncle Shank (1:54.8), the winner of three of his four starts, the Group 2 NSW True Blue 2YO Series winner Warrawee Drinking (1:54), the Albion Park winner The Grogfather (1:53.9), The Mountain (1:55.9), the Group 2 placegetter Menames Needy (1:58.7), Rockindownunder (1:58) and Rusty El (1:58.4).

As a two-year-old WARRAWEE NEEDY had 12 starts for nine wins, a second and a third for earnings of $535,000, with a fastest time of 1:49.4.

With a lifetime record of 1:46.4 at four years, WARRAWEE NEEDY still is the fastest pacer ever to stand ‘down under’.

A winner of 29 races and more than $1.25 million, WARRAWEE NEEDY did it all. He was extremely fast at two (1:49:4), faster still at three (1:48:4) and fastest in the world at four (1:46:4).

In setting his world record WARRAWEE NEEDY left in his wake the likes of Heston Blue Chip and A Rocknroll Dance. E Dee's Cam, WARRAWEE NEEDY'S sire, was the fastest horse in the US in 2003 rating 1:48.6.

WARRAWEE NEEDY'S maternal side is very strong, being out of a unraced Apache’s Fame mare, Great Memories, who left Warrawee Ubeaut, who established a world record for two-year-olds at 1:48.6, and Big Bay Point 1:49 ($516,747).

Great Memories is a daughter of Save The Memories 1:52.4 ($304,285) who has left Savor The Memory 1:52.1f ($677,246), Major Memory 1:51.2s ($312,697), Memory In Motion 1:53.2f (206,806) and So Many Memories ($85,907).

Save The Memories is a full sister to Idylwood Bonnie, the dam of Rambaran 1:50.4 ($1,121,332), Cambaran ($295,893) and Idylwood Legend ($200,864), the dam of the champion two-year-old Lady Graceful ($1,113,376), Devil's Ivy ($489,287), and Princess Callie ($303,977).

Rambaran (by Western Hanover) is now a very successful sire in Canada leaving the winners of over $33 million to date from just 670 foals. He is the sire of seven in better than 1:50 and has produced 96 winners of over $100,000 to date including Ramegade Bruiser 1:49.8 ($1,076,061).

WARRAWEE NEEDY is the perfect outcross for most Australian mares. Owners of Bettor's Delight mares should closely look at matching Warrawee Needy with their mare as

Bettor's Delight and WARRAWEE NEEDY both share the same broodmare sire, Armbro Emerson.

WARRAWEE NEEDY served 90 mares in his first season at stud in Canada in 2016. He was test bred in 2013 and two of his foals sold for up to $50,000 at the 2015 yearling sales.
