WARRAWEE NEEDY competed with real distinction throughout his five-year career, amassing 29 wins and $1.25 million in stakes.
He began racing as a two-year-old winning nine of his 12 starts and $536,950 in stakes and taking a record of 1:49.8 and he was subsequently named the Canadian 2YO Colt of the Year.
At three he reduced his mark to 1:48.8 and the following year he matched Somebeachsomewhere’s world record of 1:46.8 winning the William Haughton Memorial elimination at The Meadowlands, defeating horses the calibre of Heston Blue Chip and A Rocknroll Dance.
WARRAWEE NEEDY, whose oldest Australian stock are six-year-olds, has an outstanding strike of starters-to-winners. As at September 12, 2024, he has sired 71 individual winners from 117 bred starters and they have earned $2.8 million, an average of $24,300 per starter.
