Group One Winning son of Bettors Delight (USA)
CARIBBEAN BLASTER is a multiple Group 1 winning son of leading stallion Bettor’s Delight.
He displayed the attributes of a top horse right from the start, albeit he raced rather greenly in his three starts as a two -year-old.
As a three-year-old he set an Australasian record, which still stands, when winning The Graduate at Melton and was also Group 1 placed finishing second in the South Australian Derby. Perhaps his best performance as a three-year-old was when he finished a close up fourth to Sushi Sushi) from the 12 hole in the Breeders Crown Final at Melton.
CARIBBEAN BLASTER really came into his own as a four-year-old. In that season he won the Group 1 $200,000 Chariots of Fire (in 1:52.6) and the Group 1 $100,000 Breeders Crown Final.
From there he went on to become one of the genuine stars of Free-for-all racing, winning a sensational $400,000 Victoria Cup and an epic $125,000 South Australian Cup (beating Smoken Up) and placing in the Hunter Cup (twice), Victoria Cup and Kilmore Cup. He defeated some of the best horses of the modern era including Im Themightyquinn, Smoken Up, Sushi Sushi, The Gold Ace, Washakie, Melpark Major, Mah Sish, and co.
CARIBBEANS BLASTER'S trainer Andy Gath said:
