YIRRIBEE PACING STUD

Yirribee Pacing Stud was established in 1985 by Rod Woodhouse and the late Ian Walsh. It was officially opened in 1986. Yirribee now celebrates 30 years in the breeding industry.

In 1986 Woodhouse & Walsh purchased American Stallion, JEREMY LOBELL, as its foundation sire. JEREMY LOBELL sired over 250 individual winners and his progeny have won in excess of A$6.7 million in prize money. He is now 32 years old and still resides at the Stud, although he has retired from his breeding duties.  He is the Sire of multiple Group 1 winner, JOFESS, who was the winner of the 2004 Inter Dominion Pacing Championship (G1), the 2002 Victoria Cup (G1) and the 2002 Treur Memorial (G1).

Other Stallions that have passed through the stallion barn over the years at Yirribee include the Meadow Skipper stallion GENGHIS KHAN (who left 200 individual winners), PET ROCK, MISTER BIG, STONEBRIDGE REGAL, VILLAGE JASPER, ARMBRO OPERATIVE, BRIOSO HANOVER, JAGUAR SPUR, WALTON HANOVER, ARMBRO AUSSIE, RIVER KHAN and METROPOLITAN.

Today, along with Owner/Manager Rod Woodhouse and his partner, Dianne Sutherland, Yirribee has highly regarded stud master Roger Strong who has been at the Riverina nursery since 1998.

Todays roster of stallions are a line up of Colonial bred and International stallions who are set to take Yirribee to a new level in the Breeding Industry, are headed by LAZARUS,  WARRAWEE NEEDY (the equal fastest horse to ever stand down under), MILLION DOLLAR CAM (Little Brown Jug winner and proven Sire), FEAR THE DRAGON and TINTIN IN AMERICA, LENNYTHESHARK, LOMBO POCKET WATCH AND RENAISSANCE MAN all Colonial Bred and Superstars of the racetrack here in Australasia.

 

With the NSW Breeders Challenge and NSW Blue Series, a yearling bred in NSW is eligible to earn up to $13,000 in bonuses,  and prize money.  An added  plus is if you choose a Colonial Bred stallion from the Yirribee roster, a further $500 rebate is on offer from Harness Racing NSW.
