Introducing Yirribee Pacing Stud

Yirribee Pacing Stud is situated close to Wagga Wagga, New South Wales, Australia and encompasses over 400 acres of rich alluvial river flats with extensive frontage to the Murrumbidgee River.

Yirribee was established in 1985 by Rod Woodhouse and Ian Walsh and has grown to be one of the leaders in the Australian Standardbred breeding industry. Rod and Ian were business partners in an unrelated industry and shared a common interest as trainers and drivers.

The purchase of US stallion Jeremy Lobell to stand his first season in Australia in 1986 combined with the picturesque and fertile environment allowed Yirribee to establish itself very early as leader in the breeding industry. From very early on it has been considered by the Yirribee team that the very best of care combined with the best possible environment would a recipe for success.

Both founding partners still have an active involvement in the Stud with Rod taking the role of General Manager responsible for the overall Stud management while Ian is the Farm Manager ensuring that the farm and surrounds are always in peak condition to provide the first class environment required to produce the best results.
